tonight i was brushing up on my How to Read a Book by Mortimer J. Adler because of all the books i'm having to read for Grad school.it probly sounds like a humorous title but it's actually very helpful. years ago it taught me how to read and comprehend and learn from books a lot more than i previously could.
but there's a lot of unrelated to reading wisdom in this book as well. like this quote for example:
“disagreement is futile
agitation unless it is undertaken with the hope that it may lead to the
resolution of an issue.”
GREAT reminder for me & for all of us.
i need to check myself & if there's no hope of a resolution... just drop it. whatever it is.
seems to be good advice. maybe there's an exception, but i can't think of one right now.
