pie in the face (in Upstreet)

One of our WINS for Upstreet (our elementary environment at Ridge Church) is FUN.
And a grid of Questions we think through as a creative team is "Is it BIG, MEMORABLE, UNEXPECTED?"

So, we do stuff like letting a kid smash a pie in his small group leader's face! Actually, we usually do way crazier, bigger, memorable, and unexpected stuff than this. This is just when I happened to whip my iPhone out and put this on YouTube... (it's only 16 seconds)

That was Logan throwing the pie in Pete's (his small group leader) face. (Sam, another SGL, also took a pie in the face for the team that Sunday!) I heard Logan walking out of Upstreet talking a mile a minute to his mom about the day in Upstreet.

The hope is that every kid goes home talking excitedly about the pies in the face which will transition to conversations about honesty and the story of Esther, Haman, & Mordecai. (Which it did accomplish this with several families and that's what we celebrate!)
